VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) - The 4-H Fair-Grounds played host to a Wedding Expo Sunday, but this year they’ve done something new. 

Folks attending the expo got to see a live wedding, cocktail dresses right next to vendors and booths.

A local couple got hitched at the event and got a number of those wedding details taken care of for free as a result.

“We thought, what if we had a formal gownswedding here during the expo, and then Amanda and Justin came in and they were looking for a winter wedding, and didn’t have a date set, so I said, would you guys be interested in having the wedding during our wedding expo, and they agreed to it,” executive director Herve Leger Art Woodward said.

Organizers say they’re hoping to do another wedding, or possibly multiple weddings at the expo next year.

• It cost our families and us roughly $2,000 in 1981, or about $4,800 in today’s dollars. For that we got flowers, a sit-down dinner for more than 100 guests, liquor, a banquet hall and a disc jockey.
